Autumn is here and there is nothing better than to start you day with a warm bowl of oatmeal
Day after day it can become boring so here I have three nutritious ways to make it something to look forward to everyday.
I use Bob’s Red Mill Gluten free Oats, never instant oats! I don’t even understand instant oats it only take 5 minutes to cook the oatmeal with regular oats and you can do it in the microwave if you wanted to.
Cook the oats according to the directions on the label with either almond mild or water.
Berry Oats: I went blueberry and strawberry picking this summer and you just toss them at the final minute of cooking the oats and add a teaspoon of sugar.
Apple cinnamon: Cut your favorite apple into small cubes and add then to the oats while cooking. Add one teaspoon brown sugar and one half teaspoon of cinnamon per serving to the pot. Serve with raw sunflower seeds and golden raisins.
Pumpkin: Add 1/4 cup of oatmeal, a 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin spice and one teaspoon brown sugar per serving to the cooking oatmeal. Top with pecans. If you don’t have pumpkin spice use cinnamon and and nutmeg or allspice.
Add almond milk to your bowl if you like 🙂
