- Chop: 2 Onions

- add 2 cups of rinsed split peas
- add salt and pepper ½ tsp each, (add more later if needed).
Add a fresh ham hock (knuckle bone) or the bone from a spiral ham (Salty) Simmer for 2 hours remove the bone, and add the ham that was left on the spiral ham back into the soup. if using just the bone, you may want to purchase some sliced ham and cube it for the soup. Enjoy with a loaf of crispy gluten-free bread.
